From “Bike Austin”:
On Tuesday morning, council members Greg Casar and Leslie Pool will announce a proposal to make a historic investment in Austin’s bicycle, sidewalk and trail network through a 2016 Mobility Bond Election.
This is a critical moment in our campaign to fund a holistic network of protected bike lanes, trails and sidewalks in Austin. Will you join us to back them up?
WHAT: Press Conference w/council members Casar and Pool
WHERE: City Hall Atrium, 301 W 2nd St
WHEN: Tuesday, June 14th, 8:45AM
WHY: To announce a plan to fund hundreds of millions of dollars of improvements to Austin’s major streets, sidewalks, protected bike lanes and trails
Share on Facebook
The council members’ proposal will fund critical safe routes to schools, patch our fragmented sidewalk network and make the most comprehensive investment ever in Austin’s protected bike lane and trail network. The plan also calls for protected bike lanes, complete sidewalks and dedicated bus lanes on some of Austin’s biggest, most dangerous corridors.
This kind of transformational change can only happen if we stand together to demand it. Will you join us on Tuesday to make your voice heard?
Sincerely,
Mercedes Feris
Executive Director
PS - Can’t make the morning press conference? Join us at the Council Mobility Committee meeting Tuesday afternoon at 3pm to testify in favor of historic funding for bike lanes, trails and sidewalks. You can RSVP for the meeting here.
