IWorried about the high cost of living in Austin? How about the safety of our streets for bikers or pedestrians? Excited for Project Connect? Always wanted to live in an affordable, inclusive community? What is Austin up to now-a-days to address these issues, and how can I take part? The New Liberals of Austin, a center-left advocacy group, are proud to sponsor a meet and greet this August to bring together different wings of our communities to learn what has been happening around us, and how we can take part to advocate for an Austin that is interconnected, inter-modal, and is a place where opportunity can be found for all. We’re excited to bring together activists, policy experts, and city planners to come by and talk about the state of our city, and how our combined advocacy can make a real difference for the lives of Austinites.

This year the Austin City Council backed reforms such as eliminating parking minimums, reducing lot sizes, and legalizing housing alternatives like townhomes, row houses, and triplexes, but what’s next? Our neighborhood friends and activists are brimming with ideas and are passionate about you can get involved. Our event aims to connect like-minded urbanist-aligned organizations and citizens so they too can help to Build a Better Austin. Here you’ll have a chance to network with local community groups and policy advocates working out in front and behind the scenes to keep Austin a growing, vibrant city.

Event will include catering from the delicious Scholz Garten.
