Friends, the time has come to begin the board election cycle for 2020. Friends of Austin Neighborhoods has a working board comprised of up to 7 members, including a president, secretary, and treasurer. All positions are up for election/re-election. APPLY HERE.
We are a grassroots organization made more powerful by diverse leadership that reflects our neighborhoods’ populations. If you feel some pull towards opening the nomination, the form is quick (4 questions, two of which are your name and what kind of housing you have) and, again, we want diverse candidates with varied backgrounds. You do not need to be a planner with 20 years of experience on city council to apply.
It is a working board. Meetings occur on Thursday evenings once a month for an hour-ish with additional assignments between meetings. If you have questions about what kind of work is expected of the directors, you can look that up in our by-laws, available HERE in articles VII and VIII.
We will close the Google form at 11:59:59 on October 2nd, 2020. Elections will quickly follow.
