Barton Springs Road is iconic. And yet, it’s miserable and dangerous for walking, bicycling, transit, and driving. But that could finally change.
Starting with a 12-month pilot, the City plans to install wide protected bike lanes on Barton Springs Road between South Lamar and Stratford Drive , as well as shorter crossing distances and better sidewalks and bus stops. This would be a leap forward for safe transportation in Austin.
This bold plan needs a LOT of public support. Please take the City’s survey before June 30th. Then ask others to take it too!
