# Charter amendments | Meeting this Monday

Austinites for Progressive Reform is a campaign to make Austin the most pro-democracy city in the country.

Earlier this month, we published four draft charter amendments that will lead to a more representative, diverse, responsive, and accountable city government:

- Elect the mayor in presidential years, not midterms;
- Move to ranked-choice voting, to eliminate low-turnout runoffs;
- Adopt a mayor-council form of government; and
- Create a “Democracy Dollars” program.

This Monday, we are hosting a meeting for FAN and AURA members to learn more about the amendments and share feedback. Here are the details:
