# Barton Springs Road Survey

From Safe Streets Austin:

Barton Springs Road is iconic. And yet, it’s miserable and dangerous for walking, bicycling, transit, and driving. But that could finally change.

Starting with a 12-month pilot, [the City plans to install](https://storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/844d0edebbb540e4a6e8ed8b97393d9a) wide protected bike lanes on **Barton Springs Road between South Lamar and Stratford Drive** , as well as shorter crossing distances and better sidewalks and bus stops. **This would be a leap forward for safe transportation in Austin.**
